Re: Visiting Wailea, Maui in February
I just visited Wailea Maui last week. I went out with Ben 'Sweet Cheeks' Zyons in his 18' Terncat and he took me to some spots which were literally crawling with Uku (Jobfish Snapper) It was very very rough during the few days I was there all over Hawaii and Ben still found us some very nice, calm water. The places we dove were so desolate we didn't see another person. Not on the water, not on the land. You could expect to see Jobfish, Ulua, Wahoo, maybe Mahi. You can get in touch with Ben at www.freedivehi He is one of the deepest divers in Hawaii. He came over to Kona and won the past two Kona Depth Challenges handedly with 250' drops CWNF constant weight no fins. It is great to have a boat and experienced diver and crew there. At one point we had a large Tiger Shark swim up to us. Like 5' wide... it's important to have experienced guides and crew in that situation.
