Coonasses at the SBO

Congrats to all that placed at the SBO, especially Dan Macmahon.

I'm thoroughly impressed with my coonass Helldiver buddies Henry Pacheco and Steve Zelenka for finishing 10th and 14th in a field of 215! Not to shabby for throwing them in foreign waters.

Sheri (coon-ass by association) kicked ass as usual. Congrats again.

King Dauzat, you'll have some splain'n to do at the meeting tonight!

David D and I did 9 dives in the Middle Grounds, scratching for every fish we could muster! My other two buddies were right behind us.

If the big fish were thick David would have brought them up. He freeshafted all day, never touched his line rigs, and only lost one big hog near 20 lbs. I had a big gag in the 30 lbs range shake my freespear in a deep cave.

In 2 weeks time the Grounds changed temperature by about 7 degrees and fish moved around.
Some boats found a bunch of nice fish anyway... I did'nt; so hang this mediocre performance on the me.

Capt Chad

Davids 69 points won a Magnum XHD gun. Steve Bryan and I won certificates for entry to the St Pete Open, with a t-shirts included, about $80 prizes, even though we were just out of the top 50.

Thanks, Stan. Chad, you know how fish can be.....unpredictable. It doesn't change the fact that you, Steve, David, and that crazy coonass are outstanding spearfishers. I think I used that line on Screen Name after the last freedive tournament. Look at him now.....gloating that he kicked my butt. OK, Screen, you just wait till next time.

I had to chase this fish so hard for so long, he gave me a migraine. Know what I'm talking about? He was not the big, dumb male that he appeared to be.....

I noticed those beanbags....were they yours? They looked very comfy. I could have used that and 2 bottles of Exedrin!

Looks to me like that big dumb male was trying to get affectionate in that picture, until you got a headache. Really wasn't his lucky day was it. Cool pic.

Hey Luv, thanks, but I wasn't implying anything about males of the human species, you know!

Marcus, it was not his lucky day. I think I gave him a pretty bad headache too, so I guess we're even.

Great pic Sher-I-EEE! That Hog, laying there on deck and still able to manage as smile. Is that a cigarette in his mouth? Some fish have all the luck...

Sheri, do I now have to change my screen name to Crazy Coonass?

Also, thought you might want to know that I heard Tim and Jimmy asking if there was a miscellaneous category! I think they were planning on weighing you!

later.............
