Re: Visiting the Hawaiian Islands?
Great resource for diving in Hawaii. Every link is useful.
Chad, the Fuji's Kihei Fishing supply just shut down a few months ago. Really sad, they had alot of cool stuff there. |

Re: Visiting the Hawaiian Islands?
Great Resource!! FYI Bluewater Inc Maui is no more (at least their number is disconnected and their store is gone) and Maui Sporting Goods is THE spearfishing store in Maui.

Re: Visiting the Hawaiian Islands?
I wish I could say I did Chad, but I took that pic in Honolua Bay. I am going to go try to do some spearing just south of Slaughterhouse today, but the southern swell we've been getting has jacked the viz all up.

Re: Visiting the Hawaiian Islands?
NICE JOB on that list!!!
You covered everything I could think of!! My store is closed FYI I had issues with the new location we were planning on moving into. We are still here though. Still got plenty gear just got to email me or go on website. or call me.. The Mahi are in! Drop me a line so we can get you in the water!! SD fishprints is who I used for the Mahi I am holding in the Avatar. Very fair Prices and She(Shasta) is the wife of a local Spearo. She knows what she is doing and you still get to eat the fish! Ill post pix of the prints later! Aloha

Re: Visiting the Hawaiian Islands?
FYI, my experiences with chartering a multi-day dive trip though Red Sea Ocean Adventures was not positive. Good group of divers and a decent boat, but the details were not set up correctly/cleared prior. Half of the trip ended up being a fishing trip and diving did not seem to be the priority with the captain and boat crew fishing through the nights instead of mooring somewhere quiet for some shut-eye. Also trolling to and from dive sites instead of being at the sites when were were ready to dive. Beware.

Re: Visiting the Hawaiian Islands?
Aloha Whitney,
Thanks, I tried to cover everything. I am glad to hear you are still opened and ready for business. I am not on island, I am here in La Paz where you were supposed to be. Haha, lock that passport up in a safe bro. When I make it back you will know forsure. Hey Pablo, I remember that trip very well. I had to list them as well to be fair. I am hoping that was a 1 time fluke deal and won't happen again to another group. Aloha! Chad

You did forget another detail. Shopping for food. Shop around Milk at one store was $10.98 a gallon and $6.98 at a store about a mile away. Watermellon was 2.49 an lb at a grocery store and $3.00 each at a roadside stand. Buy all your fruit from roadside stands or farmers markets it was way less and better taist. Costco can be great for some stuff if you have a place to cook it. Buy as much local as you can from locals it helps them out and tended to be cheeper most times.

Re: Visiting the Hawaiian Islands?
Yeah, groceries are very expensive as well as fuel, but I figured everyone knew that.....

Re: Visiting the Hawaiian Islands?
Dont know anything about "Bluewater Inc" but as you say.....I second "Maui Sporting Goods", Brian Yoshikawa is a Maui Icon with every aspect of spearfishing, custom gear, killer local fishing shirts, all the gear you will ever need. He's even a provider of "Boyscouts of America" clothing for the Keiki(children). So if your in Maui and need some gear, Maui sporting goods is the place....HAHA, I sound like a fricken comercial.
