Mako vs JBL vs AB Biller

Im looking to get a new 80cm speargun and i am debating between a Mako JBL and AB Biller. I have buddies with each of them i have used the JBL woody and its decent but i havent used the AB Biller and i have only used the mako once and dont quite remember how it felt. Any suggestions?

Three completely different styles of guns there.

1) Go to Google
2) Type in "Spearboard"
3) Look through the thousands of threads available
4) Figure out which gun you want

I voted for JBL, that's what I shoot on the rigs and it takes a beating out there, yet it continues to perform.

It may not be the top of the line, but it gets the job done.

Why are you only considering those 3 brands?

I have a little bit of experince with each of them and they are within budget and they have the right length

Gotcha.
Well my little brother just shot a whole crapload of grouper with his little jbl woody elite last week in baja, I've killed some good fish with a big woody elite in the past. Faced with only those 3 options I'd probably go JBL, at least they last forever and can seriously handle abuse without breaking. You could probably pick up a pathos or RA for about the same price too, might be worth a call to nautilus.

Re: Mako vs JBL vs AB Biller

Out of those three I'd go jbl as well. I shoot a big 450 woody mag from them and love it. Same wood as ab biller with a better feel to it. Ab biller would be my second choice out of the three. If you scuba shoot stick with those two, free dive an ra will do the job and last you forever. Pathos seems like just another rail gun but if it works it works.

If you are diving in Ft Lauderdale, an 80 cm gun is going to be way too short. I would not recommend anything less than a 100 cm and I prefer a 110 for scuba in clear water.

Re: Mako vs JBL vs AB Biller

Once you have held one of the new Pathos you won't think its just another railgun..my recently got a 120 laser open and damn that thing is sweet. The handle, muzzle, and reverse mech all make it a better gun IMO than most other railguns. Coming in at under $400 for the carbon and $300 for the aluminum is going to put a hurtin on many brands out there.
