No ab season in California 2018
I didn't check the Cali board but suspect this is already widely known. Feeling better I made my trip last summer.

Yes we've had some discussions about it down here. They closed abalone diving in southern CA years ago. Was supposed to be a short term temporary closure but it's never opened back up. The big concern is that they'll do the same thing in northern CA.

Yep. Looks like they decided to postpone a decision until March and close it until then.

Happy to see ODFW send out surveys asking for diver input for the decision in March. Here's hoping that its not a full closure and that they come up with a sustainable option to manage the fishery.
