Help_Best solution to reconstitute screw holes?

I removed screws from a Mahogany Gun to replace the handle trigger...When I place the screws back in the wood, I’d like to place a solution inside the screw holes to reconstitute and give the threads a good hold. Any suggestions on the best stuff to use? Thanks

Personally I drip a little epoxy into the holes - or dip the screws - or both if your OCD. Ideally you would use the same epoxy the gun is sealed with.

I've seen some people use CA glue but it seems to degrade over time in wet environments.

Yup! I re-insert the screw when the epoxy is still soft, then just wipe off whatever squeezes out of the hole when the screw is tightened. The screw will be in pretty tight when you use this method. If you want to make it easier to remove, brush a thin coat of silicone grease or spray on the screw before re-inserting.

If everything else fails, you can try to use inserts. You can go the stainless wood insert route (very expensive)... or try tiny (M4) brass expanding anchors for solid construction materials. Then, instead of screws, you can use stainless bolts.

What I do is drill the hole to the appropiate size, mix some epoxy glue, insert the brass anchor, when cured run a bottom tap all the way down to clean the threads (I don't want the anchor to expand because it could split the wood, I just want it to hold in there thanks to the glue). Now the anchor is good to use.

The outside of the anchor is knurled and has some cut outs to allow it to expand, so the epoxy glue gets a perfect grip.

use the silicone sealant (when it dried it get strong) epoxy have one disadvantage some time when u want to remove again pin or screws it break or wood split .
