You need to slow down a little bit on the approach. I would advise to drop from straight over the top of the next one you find sleeping like that too, exhale completely and sink down ontop of it without moving...

That thing was basically sitting there when you let the spear fly. Had you waited one more second it might have been a different story...

The fish-eye lens on the GoPro doesn't give her nearly the credit. It's tough to judge from the video. It makes everything look a lot smaller at a distance. She was 12 feet away when I let the pole spear fly.

Comparing her to some big seabass taken last year, she was every bit as long and much thicker, but she could've been 45-50. We've got a second date planned. When I see her next, I'll ask her to hop on the scale for me.
