Flying with Gear

Hey guy

Heading out to Kauai next week just seeing if anyone has ideas how to pack a 110 picasso and short Riffe?

I normally use a 4 inch wide pvc tube for the Riffe and just take off the handle but the 110 is much bigger and I don't see a way to take the handle off... any ideas would be appreciated.

Find a friend that has a sportsube and borrow it!

What city and state are you in?

Re: Flying with Gear

Mako makes a decent gun bag, I've used it twice to take gear to Hawaii without issue.

The bad news is that Kauai diving is the worst of all the islands...

Re: Flying with Gear

If you don't travel much, you can get a cheap snowboard bag from Amazon for 20-30$. It won't last much, but 4-5 trips for sure. Then, you buy another one if needed.

I just got back from a trip to Puerto Vallarta and both of my buddies received their sportbes with dented and with a crack in each. Had it been a bag, the damage would have been to their guns and not the protective tubes.

I live in Downey, you are welcome to come borrow mine- few forks use it more than a couple times per year so there is no need to buy one unless you are traveling more often.

Ya... defiantly not gonna take the chance with bag. Thanks for the offer but I figured it out.... Basically I bought a 5x5 8 ft vinyl fence post for $34 from home depot. cut it down to size and put my gear in it.

Thanks!
