Re: SUP hunting
I didn't have a fish scale... jumped on the bathroom scale out of curiosity, looked a little shy of 10 pounds. I got 3 others around 20" pretty quickly, then saw this one trying to sneak out of a reef ball... sent out a prayer of a shot with the pole spear and he ended up on the end.

Re: SUP hunting
I posted this over in my gun build thread, but also wanted to leave it here to inspire the SUP hunters out there. It's always funny how the guys in the $300k boats look at you when you paddle up to the reef miles offshore... and then especially funny how they look at you when you pull in fish like this:

Re: SUP hunting
I added a little gadget to the SUP. It is a 5-transducer 3D mapper that basically lets me see what's on the ocean floor from the SUP. It is a little self contained unit, not the craziest fanciest piece of electronics ever, but for the SUP this is a real game changer. Now, all reefs, ledges, and structure are in reach. What a time to be alive! |

Re: SUP hunting
very lucky man! that sup is a beauty! I need something similar in Italy and I am considering modifying an old 12' long windsurf board, obviously flattening the keel and sharpening the entry point.
