JBL Woody Magnum Won't Load

I have a JBL Woody Magnum that I bought about a year and a half ago, I haven't taken it out yet. Took it out to dry test it for a dive next weekend and the trigger mechanism seems to have gotten jammed, and won't allow the spear to lock into place. I was hoping that there was a tip or simple fix that you would be able to suggest to get it working. Pulled off the handle to inspect the trigger mechanism and there's definitely no rust or damage that I can see.

Re: JBL Woody Magnum Won't Load

The older Woody Magnum's levers can catch on the ribbed inner cheeks inside the plastic handle frame. If you place thin wishers in there then this provides a smooth surfaces for the levers to revolve against. The pivot pins are the washer mounts, one on each side, or you can make metal shim strips to do the same job. Need to be thin to allow the handle to go back together. In the metal handle guns this problem does not occur as the levers cannot dig into the frames.

That's some handy tip there if it works. Looking forward to hearing a positive outcome.

Sad to say that it wasn't the issue, but thank you anyway.

New or preowned? Have you tried spraying silicone? Don’t force jam the shaft, if it doesn’t release it is more work.
