Mexico Trip Report
I've taken this year of off as a Ship Captain and leaving the 600'-1000' ships and 120+ crewmembers and craziness that comes with Icebergs and Pirates, Eco-nazis and hurricanes to spend more time in the water.
In November I took a group of divers looking to get into blue water Spearfishing and learn more about it to Mexico and put through the week put them through the paces how-to, rigging, dive technique etc and it was a blast having such a good group of people down there. The diving was spectacular with tunas seen on almost every drift, Wahoo, Marlin, Sailfish, and Cubera Snapper always luring you deeper. Despite having never been Blue Water hunting most of the guys and girls got shafts in Personal Best Yellowfins and it has just been a blast putting people on good fish around the world. I've got a few more trips this year and the first one is in Feb back down in Mexico to concentrate on breaking some records for Pargo (Cubera, Barred, Rojo, Mullet, Etc Snappers) and blue water as the weather allows. The dive boats and accommodations are top notch and whether you want to learn from the best or just have a good time with your group of friends it is a hell of a trip. Next one is Feb 12-14 and 16-18. Flying in and out of Puerta Vallarta Mexico. Surf is awesome down there too if you are game check it out

Re: Mexico Trip Report
Don't get depressed Alex, you are hunting admirably for where you are, the southern part of Barbados.
Try the north east coast. Kerry. |

Re: Mexico Trip Report
The one in the photo is around 70# and we were near Puerta Vallarta Mexico. I'm heading back down there in February and we are going to be there for a few weeks diving fishing and surfing. It is just unreal there and the place we stay is wonderful. Its tucked right into the Four Seasons and St. Regis with a few sick surf breaks out front, big tunas 18 miles out and Rooster fish and Monster Cuberas just a few miles from the beach. So amazing there.

Re: Mexico Trip Report
That looks like awesome fun. Is Mexico as bad as we down here in Aus are led to believe? All we hear about is guns, tequila and kidnappings.

Re: Mexico Trip Report
We bring our own spearguns, drink others tequila, and give fish naps. Other than that its not too bad if you are in the right areas.
