Michigan Whitefish Hunting
Well, I just realized I had not posted these videos here yet, but here are a few videos from Lake Michigan, in the Channel/harbor in search of whitefish.
The spawning run is about to happen any day now, so we keep going on recon dive sessions hoping to hit it as it starts. No fish, but decent vis Muskegon Dive - YouTube Finally a few shots at whitefish Whitefish Recon II - YouTube Hopefully the next one I post will have stringers of fish on display at the end of it.

Re: Michigan Whitefish Hunting
Mike,
I went for a swim today at Green Lake in Caledonia. Water was 50 degrees and felt warm and comfortable in my Mako 7mm. However, my hands were in pain from the cold. Made it tough to hang on to my pole spear. So how thick is the neo on gloves that will work for us in the late fall and early spring? 7mm seems a little too thick to me for operation of a spear or gun. |

Re: Michigan Whitefish Hunting
I have been using my 5 mil 5 finger gloves and after about 1.75 hours the cold gets to my fingertips.
Water reading 39 on my Aeris F10 I am wearing a 5mm Mako suit for the body, and am fine. I am also wearing 3mm socks, and they are working for about the same timeframe, those are the only parts on my body that are cold at the end of the session.

Re: Michigan Whitefish Hunting
Mohney, I'm using 3mm Yazbeck gloves, and my hands are warmer than my feet, (in 5mm socks). We were in the water for over 2 hours yesterday, before finally getting too cold. 39 F, by Mike's watch.
